Yehuda:

I for one am finding the entire Virdian Rose thread to be fascinating. Having no idea about projected timetables for things developing, its wonderful to watch it as it unfolds.

How long after the eyeballs are exposed before they can actually see things properly?

As of yesterday he was able to track my movements. I believe that it is mostly light-dark with little resolution, considering that it will be at least another week to nine days before the eyelids are actually fully open.

Me too!! Thank you so much for taking the time to post these pictures and information! I knew that they grew fast...but 34 grams in one day?! LoL. I have a question...which will probably sound stupid but oh well...since their nares don't open for about 23 days, (i think it was...see I told you I learned something) how do they breathe....through their mouth? I love these pictures...can't wait till he'she starts getting feathers in-which I know won't be long at the rate he/she's going!

They are born with their nares open, it is their eyes & ears that are closed. If you look at this picture:

you will see a little pinhole nare.

Wow, only 23 days old and already a supermodel! LOL, too cool, Yehuda; you should seriously consider a career in avian fashion!
