THe OCD Camelot Macaw

Went to the grocery store. Bought kleenex since it's allergy season and both me and my son have them. Opened two boxes, put them on the side tables in the living room. Let the ladies out, went to put away the rest of the groceries. Went back to living room.

One empty kleenex box, kleenex so deep on floor you can't see the carpet, one camelot macaw caught in the act of pulling kleenex out of the other box.

She didn't tear them up or anything. Just HAD to pull them all out of the box. When I put her back in the cage later, someone picked up what was left of the other box and sat it back down near her cage and I caught her trying to grab it with her foot through the bars. I can only surmise that Lola has an OCD problem pertaining to kleenex.

Silly bird.

That seems like something my 3 year old nephew might do.

...reminds me of the few times the cat grabbed the end of the toilet paper from the far bathroom and ran with it through the house...

That is exactly why I sometimes buy really cheap toilet paper and simply give my BGs each a roll. Its too much fun.

ROFL my U2 Tyler does that. She can't resist emptying a box of kleenex.
She does not tear them up either but will throw them in the air and watch them float down. I occasionaly put a cheap box of generic tissue in her cage to keep her busy. After she pulls them all out I stuff them back in again.

We have the same problem here! Our dinner napkins are on top of the fridge so they won't be tossed to the floor! I never thought of giving each of them a roll of toilet paper - may have to try it!

I have a question about tissues and paper. is it ok to let my little fellows and gals tear up paper and tissue? sometimes I think they are trying to eat it. Will there? and could it hurt them any? or is it ok to let them have a go at safe papers and tissues?

thanks!

Oh, I love that story, and I was wondering why Nancy had a toilet tissue roll haning in the Macaws outside cage/avairy!!!!!!!
