Recycling feeders?

I have been looking into these recycling feeders that catch seed.,pellets and prevent waste. I have found 2 so far and both are about $100 which is a lot of money for a fancy bowl! Does anyone use one of these things or has anyone come up with a Do it Yourself version?

Well! The birdmanger ones are on eBay for 1/2 the price...and I found a website where someone reccomended using those pen plax parakeet baths for a feed bowl..harder to fling stuff.

Birds are wasteful creatures in captivity. In the wild, they fling their food to re-seed their environment. They are just following what nature programmed them to do.

You can check http://birdsnway.com. They have an extensive library regarding homemade bird items.

I personally do not believe in recycling food. You never know what could be recycled. You may recycle seed that has been touched by one of your birds that is showing no signs of illness, but is in fact infected. The food can become contaminated by the bird when it is handled, etc. I just vaccuum what they disperse from their food bowls.
