wants to bite my ear

I first posted about 2 months ago in tears b/c my newly adopted 2 year old was biting the hell out of my hand and even growling at me.

We've had 2 quality months together as I'm a teacher and have the summer off. She talks to me all the time and gets all excited when she sees me. Whether she's scavanging on the bottom of the cage or hanging upside down--she scrambles to her perch immediately when she sees me in the hope that I'll take her out. She's even started regurgitating regularly for me if I praise her too much when she poops before I take her out and when she steps up.

She now wants to be with me all of the time that she's out. If I have her on a table or couch next to me, she climbs up my arm or back to get on my shoulder. Okay well I know this is supposed to be bad but I am just so thrilled to see her not giving me any new scars--and wanting to be close to me. She talks to me and preens my hair. The only problem is if she finds my ears--she clamps down pretty hard and it hurts. She consistently looks for them every single time she is up there. Any ideas on what's going on here?

thanks.

I'm not sure about the ear problem, less she is trying to give you a couple of holes for earrings! Or maybe she just sees them as trying to 'take her spot'. Hard to say, though if you scold her for doing so (a good "NO" and timeout), and she continues on doing it, you'll have to stop her from being on your shoulder, no matter how much she wants to be there.

My baby Princess does/did the same thing with my ears! he hasn't done it in a while though. I just told him no, and took him off of my shoulder. I think he's got the idea now.

So glad to hear your bonding. what happens when school starts?????

hopefully nothing. I leave at 6:45am and am home by 2pm so hopefully she won't notice my absence or miss me much. She seems to have a good time chit chatting to herself and the cats. I hear her sometimes through the windows when I'm coming up the driveway.

I guess we shall see.
