New Addition to the pet store family

I would love to share this story with you :) As u all know i work at a very well known petstore here in canada called nature pet centers , we have on in lasalle which would give us a bad name if ....Well lets see they have the smallest store too many birds and not enough toys fro every bird :P so while i was there visiting lasalle i noticed 2 beautiful hyacinth macaws named ''bozo'' and sappaire(cant spell) there both 5 years old , a lady both them when they were babies and had to sell them back to the store because she is termanally ill (cancer) so both those babies lived there lives at a pet store , with small cages and no toys :( well not for long i decided to tell my boss to take them and bring them to our store as we have a large avaiary made just for them ..and so the date was set to get both in a month or so ...a month went by and we got bad news sappaire wasent doing so good , she died shortly after the call (pdd) :( bozo is now with us and so lonely it kills us to see him all alone but now he can live his life the way a macaw should , plenty of space , lots of tlc and lots of toys :) we love him and will be there for him every step of the way :) hopefully pdd didnt get him too :(

Has Bozo been around the other bird that died from PDD? Would you be exposing your own birds to it if he is around you?

He is lovely, I wish I could have one come live with me!

I am sure Bozo has a big void in his life missing his Sapphire.

Hopefully a new place to live with lots of activities will help mend his spirts.

Yes we intent to take aall precautions when it comes to our birds , thats a for sure thing , hes a beautiful baby boy we love him to death :)

He is going on aug 16th and then to a hospital in georgia to be tested for pdd , hopefully he dosent have it :(

I assume you mean Dr. Ritchie's group at the Georgia University Veternary Center. He's in very good hands there. Unfortunately, that is the second Hy that I know of who died from PDD. That is just awful.

He is stunning as the Hys always are. Enjoy him while you can.
