A Must See !

I bought the 3 DVD set of Life With Birds, by David Attenborough

I just finished the 2nd DVD, and it is amazing. I highly reccomend it to everyone. You will see things that you never thought possible in the bird world.

What amazing creatures we have choosen to share our lives with.

I was just about to post a thread asking if anyone knew of any shows or movies about birds, when I found this post. I will definitely check this one out. I have the Planet Earth series but haven't seen anything about birds, but I haven't watched them all yet. Does anyone know of any more shows about parrots in the wild?

I love Sir David Attenborough/BBC projects like this. I own the THE PRIVATE LIFE OF PLANTS and used to watch one of the hour-long sections at least every night for months after I first bought it.

I just watched two sections a couple weeks ago! They are amazing productions and finding out they have a Life of Birds is gold to me!

Thank you thank you thank you for pointing that out. I was doubtful the thread would live up to its title "A must see" but it turned out to be an understatement!

Every Spring Bill Oddie films Spring Watch. Not just birds but has quit a few on - tiny cameras are hidden in wild bird boxes so you can see the chicks hatch and grow up.

Some are also hidden in river banks so you can see kingfishers and ever shrews going about there life.

Both are great programmes to watch.

Another DVD I need to make time to see - there is so much good stuff out there, quality stuff, and not enough time in the week to watch it. I've added it to the evergrowing list. *sighs* At this rate, i can't die - I've got too much stuff on my Netflix account I have yet to get to.

Of course, if I want to watch birds and marvel at their behavior now, I have the option of turning around and staring intently at Ira as he preens or grabbing Bob and having him hang out in my lap while I type (Ira goes after the keyboard, the mouse, the screen, my WACOM tablet, my pen...)
