I took a Few Pictures from the Memphis Bird Fair last weekend. There was a Hawkhead and Vassa parrot there. I've never seen either of these birds in person.

Vassor? LOL I actually had the pleasure of meeting one! He was quite funny and at the same time nippy, but not really in a bad way! BTW, correct spelling is vassa! I can't recall meating a hawkhead in person, however, but he and the rosella are gorgeous! LOL, well they all are, aren't they! Of course since they are birds! Glad to see you had a great time! I hope to be going to an expo this September!

Ooops!! I've edited and corrected my 2 spelling blunders in the previous picture post.

Actually there was a piece of information hanging from the stand the Vassa was on and it said Greater Vassa Parrot I think.

Actually, it probably said Greater Vasa (my bad, sorry!). They are very unique parrots though saying that they have unique sex organs (the males), and females become bald when in breeding condition, or so I've heard and seen in photos!

That's correct - he definitely is a Greater Vassa Parrot, and a beautiful one at that!
