zupreem rumor

On a nother message board and then by looking further into it I found some information about zupreem possibly having metal shavings in it. I was very concerned I emailed zupreem and I thought this answer should be posted and was very good information.
Dear Carrie,

Thank you for your interest in ZuPreem's manufacturing process.

What you have read on the message board is actually kind of funny. First, we definitely do not have any metal shavings in our diets. Second, our diets are actually manufactured in human grade facilities and we use human grade ingredients. We actually get certified by AIB every 6 months. This is the American Institute of Baking, which all human food manufacturers have to be certified by. To my knowledge, we are the only bird food company that actually goes through this certification. Due to this, we also check every single run of every diet we make. Also, we do not even have any metal parts in our processing plants due to being AIB Certified. Being certified by AIB means we have to comply with all their regulations and rules.

I hope this has answered your questions, but if you have any more, please let me know. Thank you, and have a great day!

Sincerely,
Jennifer McDaniel

I use zupreem. I have never seen any evidence of anything bad being in it.

I have used ZuPreem and am very happy with their results. I heard the similar thing with another type of food, I don't remember which kind, though.

Zupreem Rumor

It is rumor and someone was trying to hurt the Zupreem company for some reason with information like this a while back. The company does respond with answers to any questions or concerns right away.

These rumors tend to be spread quite often, especially in the internet age- It is SO easy to start one, and they spread worldwide FAST... I know a LOT of people that will beleive pretty much anything that they see on the net, too

I don't use zupreem, though my vet thinks it is pretty good stuff... I use Harrisons, which I get from my vet- He has a very high opinion of it, but more importantly, Miro LOVES it- Seems to like the taste better than Kaytee or Zupreem... It actually doesn't taste too bad, I have tried it :)

Andrew, LOL - that's totally normal. I fed my cockatiel Harrisons (it really is a great product) and didn't think it was too bad, either. ZuPreem doesn't taste bad either, though - very fruity! (And yes, I test any food before I give it to my birds.)

I think Zupreem is a great food and I feed it to my birds.
My whole family has tried Zupreem while we were working on converting our nanday to pellets. They don't taste bad at all. Kind of like Trix but with an after taste.

I know a while back there was another food being the same way, something about a person's bird getting metal toxicousis and then usinga magnet on the food and finding shavings from the machines that mix and bag it or whatever they are.

Stories like this pop up from time to time.

Actually, Like zupreem, Harrisons is made from the same stuff that people food is made from, all certified organic stuff.. In fact it is probably BETTER than what I eat most of the time- Especially when I go to Taco Bell...
