Why does he need a doggie diaper? The doggie diaper is for female dogs in heat. Your best bet is to paper train him.

At 7 months of age (if that is what you said he was), then he should already be house trained, unless no one taught him. Pups should be fully house trained by the time they are around 5-6 months of age unless of course someone neglects to properly train them.

Anyway, I hope things go well with the new pup!

1) You can buy those items at any pet store in your area.

2) Being an inside dog does not mean that the dog never leaves the house. If he is not yet housebroken, you need to train him (crate-training is easiest if he is used to a crate) to eliminate OUTSIDE. There's no way to avoid that one.

You seem very young. What do your parents think about this adoption?

Exclamation re

He is from a shelter so nobody houstrained him . The diaper is also for dogs who you want to keep in the house and that aren't paper trained, some use them to let their dog rome around house without having to be worried about accidents.

I have never heard of such a thing and I deal with lots of unhousebroken dogs. It certainly doesn't train them not to go in the house. My guess is as soon as you stop using them, the dog will go back to eliminating in the house.

I suggest you crate-train or find a different way to housebreak the dog.

My grandmother's Daschund has a dog diaper (and that is exactly what it is called by the manufacturer). However she only uses it when Abby is in heat (as she is not neutered). Doggie diapers are not a substitution for house-breaking.

(Also, there are bands called belly bands dog breeders or trainers, or even dog owners, use to prevent their intact males from marking in the house - it covers that specific region which prevents the problem, however this is no substition for training, either.)

Yep and he will 'paper train' faster if you have a crate indoors for him to call his own. Dogs are clean and don't want to mess where they have to lay down.
