It is probably jealousy and may clear up once the quakers get bigger.

Even my largest nanday takes a step back when Ollie shows up on the playgym.

Now Goose is just a sun conure pure and simple LOL. Daring and bold just like their colors. I could see my sun conure Savannah going after a macaw and trying to eat it.

Eh, not bad on size.... hopefully they will learn to share "mama". You're right about Goose..... she's just alls out balls out.

I've had that darned song stuck in my head now for a whole day. I like his name, but you're not allowed to post it anymore

DOn't trust him now...he's attacked one once, it's all he needed. The baby was lucky THIS time, don't let there be a second one.

Duke

What duke did was not bad it was just a natural behavior for a parrot that thinks his mate is replacing him with someone new.

Look at it from his side and you will see that he just loves you and is afraid of losing your love and attention to another bird.

Dont punish, educate

John

My bluecrown conure Duke is the Jester of the house. He thinks he is the center of attention and loves to entertain guests. In fact when Guests come over he is the first to come out and entertain everyone. He has always gotten along well with the whole flock. He is also devoted to me and been my velcro bird for five years now. Well since the quaker babies have started mingling with the flock Duke has had a bug up his butt and I have had to watch Duke around the quakers. When guests come over they all want to play with the quakers and are not paying as much attention to Duke. On top of that he is faced with these two cute as a button babies, who imitate his laugh, talk better then he does and want to spend their time crawling all over me.
The other night Duke pulled a sneak attack on Quinn. Duke got on the floor, crawled up the back of the chair I was sitting in, grabbed Quinn by the leg and threw him to the floor. Quinn has two wounds in his leg and has not been using his leg at all. A vet exam today showed no broken bones or dislocation.
His leg is just badly bruised and he probably has a punctured muscle. He is on anti inflammatories for pain and swelling.

Now what to do with Duke. Right now I am locking him up when the quakers come out to socalize with the flock. I feel terrible but I have to get the message through to Duke that what he did was bad, This was not a bird squabble but a dirty sneak attack with intention of harming one of the babies.
I hope Duke gets the message.
Lynda

That is kind of what I am trying to do with Chaska and the Tiels. I will kiss and cuddle her with them watching, then kiss and cuddle them with her watching and keep going back and forth between them. I am trying to show her that just because I love the other birds too, it doesn't mean I love them any less.
