Mushrooms????

Im not sure where I am suposed to ask this question, Im not finding an avian nutrition specific area, move this if necessary.
I have a question about "mushrooms"
When Soda pop was first given to me I was told the list of things to never ever alow your pet bird to eat which included mushrooms. Now my mom has been told by someone its ok to feed fresh mushrooms. We are both scared to do that because we were told before not to that it would kill our birds.
Does anyone feed fresh mushrooms? Im not finding them on safe or unsafe lists anywhere.
Thank you in advance
Angel

oh thank you. I have never given any to him before. My son has some kind of a science progect where he had to take a mushroom to school today and the only thing i could get here was a huge package of them, which made me think of it being safe or not. LOL Leaves more for me

I've been told not to feed them either, from years ago. So I never did. However I have also read that if they get the odd mushroom from cooked food that it won't hurt them, just not to get in the habit of feeding mushrooms.
