Angry help

help i,m watching my daughters cockatiel and it has a blood feather hanging out do i need to take him to the vet or can i fix him myself

...take tweezers...get it as close to the skin as you can...grip the shaft tightly and one big pull backwards, as quick as possible to min. the discomfort...

If you are comfortable in doing so, you need to pull the feather immeadiatly. If it's a bad bleed, the bird can easily bleed out. You can wrap the bird in a towel (make sure it's head is out and it can breath) and pull the feather. Pliers sometimes work better then fingers.

If you are unsure how to do this, get that bird to a vet right away!

Thanks for helping my mom. She's been taking care of them for me since I can't have them in the dorms here in Langley. I went over as soon as she told me and pulled out the blood feather. He's doing much better. He was so loving in return.
