The majority of dogs are not hybrids because they all supposedly are ancestors of the timber wolf.... Dogs are BREEDS. If you breed a dog and a wolf together, it is NOT a hybrid. It would be like breeding an english budgie with a wild budgie. It is NOT a hybrid. I can't say much about fish and can't comment on rabbits as I do not know what specific breed of rabbit they descended from. There is a big difference however between birds and mammals... even more so with some birds being rare.

Okay, you have two conures. Male/female respectfully. Because they have a nestbox does not mean that they will mate and produce fertile eggs. Just because they mate does not mean that they will produce fertile eggs. You don't know if this is a "true pair". If they mate and the eggs are fertile, there is no guarantee that the eggs will hatch. If the eggs do hatch, there is no guarantee that the parents raise them. Say the chance that the parents do raise these chicks, you'll have hybrids, and will have to sell them as hybrids or keep them. Being that they are hybrids, you may end up with chicks that have weakend immune systems, or other health problems. You will not know for a fact their behavoirs because it may be a good mix between the sun and nanday, or it could be bad and they could end up being screamers. If you do not handraise these birds from two weeks on, they may become nasty birds who enjoy biting as many people don't buy parent raised birds (as far as medium sized to large parrots go) unless they plan to breed the birds in the future. It is not a wise choice however to breed hybrids birds with pure birds simply for the fact that those offspring may even look like pure birds and later be bred to pure stock thinking that someone is breeding only pure birds and ends up breeding hybrids. Heck, you don't even know what your chicks will look like. They might be a mix of the nanday and sun, or some of the chicks will look like one of their parents more so than the other parent. If you want an idea however what this hybridizing can do, I've attached an image. As far as the Puerto rican parrot, it is an endangered amazon... scientific name is Amazona vittata
