mustache parakeets?

Alrightwell its a decsion made now im adding a mustache parakeet to my flock ..not now but in 8 months or so , so i have time to do some reserch , if any one knows something about them please tell me , there are not many resources on them , like what group are they in parrots ..ex mine is a poicephalus but what are mustache parakeets , whats there temperment , will or could they get along with a jardine :) anything would be great

Moustache parakeets belong to the genus Pscittacula. I don't know too much about them but here are some articles that I found online...

Congrats Sweetie! Wish I knew more about them, they're truly stunning little things. Are you going through a breeder because I remember seeing one at the Nature in Saint-Dorothy a while back.

Yes i am adi i found a breeder in montreal , whos only asking 400$ which is pretty good , yeah st-dorthy had one and so did point-claire they were selling for 1200$ so 400 is pretty good ..any idea on cage size for the lil buggers?

That price is amazing! Have you been to meet the breeder yet?


And for the cage, I can say for sure that you'd want to go large with that long tail of his!

I'm thinking that a cage about 32" wide might be the minimum. The bigger the better!!!

I saw a couple moustache parrots at the bird club meeting last month. They are very cute. These ones were breeders, not pets so I can't say if they are good pet material.
