Mija and PMS

Mija seems to be suffering from PMS (Parrot Mischief Syndrome) today. She has been unmercifully picking on Rio. She was biting and pulling his tail and wing feathers, so it was time to separate them for a little cage time. She has her moments. We were also being entertained by watching her eat cantaloupe, as she squishes it in her mouth, the juicess just run down her beak, then she has to stop and find something to wipe her beak on to clean it. Then the sticky blob wants to cuddle with someone. We would also like to issue a safety bulletin regarding how hazardous it can be to sit close to them when they are trying to eat pistachios. I was on the computer next to their cages and had something whiz by my head and hit the wall with a rather wicked bang. Evidently Rio was trying to crack the pistachio shell when he lost control of it and sent it sailing my direction. It would have definitely gotten my attention if it had hit me. So beware of sailing nuts!
