What you have are flour or seed moths. You will need to do the following:

Discard any seed that has moths in it.
When you purchase seed, put it into the freezer for at least 24 hours. This will kill larvae.

Get some lure traps. Most feed stores have them and they work wonderfully. I just bought 6 (2 per package) for about $6 a pack. I had a devil of a problem when a 50 pound bag of custom seed got contaminated. The lure traps literally killed 100 moths in a few days. I haven't seen any for at least a week.

LOL! I know atleast a few of us have gone through this! How about 50+ moths in just one room! And they only come out at night! Now that's a bugger! When you buy seed, freeze as much of it as possible. If you see anything crawling around in it then you might want to get a new bag (a refund) though on an average basis, moths and beetles pose no serious threat to birds.

You can start off by buying moth traps, and putting them around the house. If you put any of them around where the birds are located, put the moth trap in a cage of sort (small wire cage). This can help minimize them, as well as feeding seed (and other dry foods such as pellets) out of the freezer (if you have enough room for all of it).

If you would rather spray your house, you will need to remove the birds for atleast 2-3 days after spraying and be sure to air the house out well...
