The Last Blueberries of the season

We have organically grown blueberries at our new place and here are pics of a couple of my flock grabbing the last ones.

Ha! those pics are priceless! Sunny loves blueberries too and nothing beats the wild ones, they taste sooooo much better! I'll have to keep a few batches in the freezer until next year.

I freeze the blueberries and then throw them in pancake mix throughout the winter. They are very yummy. You're birdies look like they are really enjoying them.

Great photos! I think I might snatch that last one for next month's caption contest.

We no longer have wild blueberries around here. Too many new houses. However, I agree, the wild ones are the best. Of course, I hated all the chigger bites.

...hmmm...that makes me wonder...we're surrounded by chokecherries, wonder if I could bring in some branches of that? The native birds pig out on them...

...but then again, the juice from the berries do some permanent staining...

I just planted 2 hedgerows(30 bushes)of BLueberries at our new place. Can't wait for them to produce. I plan on making jams, jellies, juices, and pastries out of them and sell them for income. I will give Skye all that little boy wants too!!!

Kudos on the pictures, nothing like seeing our birds doing what nature indicates! :)
