Currently, we are housing 60 birds at our Denver location. That number may very well increase in the near future with the pending hoarding situation in Golden. Two weeks ago, TGF acquired 32 birds from that residence with many more left behind. The ones lucky enough to have made it to our facility are beginning to thrive. They have been put on a proper diet with larger cages. The quarantine room where they are housed has excellent ventilation. The cockatiels are especially starting to blossom. They are beginning to interact with the staff and visitors showing how forgiving companion animals can be after enduring such horrid conditions at the hand of their former caregiver. They whistle and watch us while we clean their cages and prepare their breakfast and dinners. If you've been thinking about adopting a small bird, now is the time to fill out an adoption application and reserve your bird. Won't you be a hero for one of these birds and give them the life they deserve? And the white racing pigeon, HooHoo, is in need of the right home where he can roost and fly. The club that raised him is defunct, and we don't have a suitable adopter yet.

We were fortunate to have Denver 9NEWS, visit the birds we rescued from the hoarding situation, and bring more awareness of our work to our local community. The Aviary and Adoption Center in Elizabeth, received dozens of phone calls from people interested in adopting these birds and volunteering their time. We'll continue to provide details as they develop.
