Update on Angel

Angel is really becoming more and more a loving member of the family every day. We have been making big progress w/ her...although I don't think she can be stick trained as she's terrified of the stick everytime I bring it near her...

However, she did step up a few times, and so far only bit my brother once, probably by accident, as she was terrified and when she stepped up, she lost her balance, and used her MASSIVE beak to help her! Thus, she did break a good bit of skin!

Other than that, she's a comedian!! Everything I cook for her, she eats w/ relish and exclaims "HMMMMMMMMMMM!!!" then ask "is it good?"

She is also picking up my sister and mine accent when she talks...which I've been told...sounds like a valley girl...lol. So she stressed every syllabal now! For instance, she will say "AAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLL! !"

lol.

And to top it off, she's starting to laugh all day now by herself! lol. It's so funny!! We can hear her laugh all the way across the house!! It cracks everyone up when we hear her laughing! lol

We're still taking things slowly, and only will pick her up when SHE wants it, as she will say over and over again "C'me here!!!!! Step up!!"

[The Outlaw]

Awe, that's great. Its the little first steps that you'll remember for always. I can still remember the day that Dreamie finally put all three words together and said "I love YOU!" I don't remember being more thrilled since my granddaughter learned how to say her first words. The funny thing is that he practiced for weeks using his food dish as a kind of echo chamber. Now, he is my most verbal macaw. It like my signature line says "A bird is the only pet that can tell you I Love You."
