meet my fids
I don't think I've posted pictures of them yet, but I've talked about them plenty! Here they are for all to enjoy:
Cami was a petstore cockatiel. I got her as a young bird as a wedding gift from my husband two years ago. She was my first bird. She pretty much has free run of the house when we're home and she thinks she's the boss of the other two, which has been dangerous in the past (she lost a toe this time last year because of it). Beeper is a 9-year-old senegal parrot. This is his third home, and will be his last if I have anything to say about it. He is the love of my life (shhh! don't tell my husband!) He has overcome numerous physical and behavioral problems with some TLC over the past year and a half, but he picked his feathers for 6 years and the follicle damage is severe enough that he will never be fully feathered again. It gives him personality. And, finally, Sam is a 17-year-old BFA. We adopted her from a local bird rescue last year. She has come a long way, too. Check out her before and after pictures: before: after: taking a shower:

Thanks :) We're living in an apartment right now, but when we get a house I have my eyes on a B&G macaw. I've wanted one for as long as I can remember, but, for obvious reasons, I have to wait. As much as I love rescuing those birds in need of a home, my B&G will have to be a baby froma breeder... I just want the experience of raising a baby macaw.
It will have to be a B&G, but I have to admit I've fallen for the GWs as well. Hubby, in the meantime, would either like to get a galah or a gcc. He's not a real big bird person, and both my sennie and my 'zon are strongly bonded to me. He wants a bird that he can comfortably handle and play with, besides our 'tiel. I don't know if it will happen or not, since both Beeper and Sam were supposed to be 'his birds' until they turned out to be mine :) But if we do end up trying again for a bird for him, I would really like it to be the galah.

Galahs sure are lovely! They are on my future wish list! If you guys do end up getting a too, just be sure to keep the house extra clean, especially if you guys have a b&g around!
