Nubie wants to know what screaming sounds like?

What does a grey parrot scream sound like?
Is it that high little CHIP they do everynow and then???
Or is it something else?

The Grey has a scream all by itself or at least my Grey's do. When my Pearl plays with his toys and gets excited it sounds like someone is tearing off his wings.

It's hard to describe the sound but when you hear it your first reaction will be something is wrong and go running and the bird will be hanging from the top of the cage playing with their toys.

And then, there is the "grey growl". This noise sounds as though there is a rabid dog living inside your little bird. I had never heard this out of my grey until one day when she was outside and our german shepherd came up on the porch. She was 3 years old, very petite bird (360 grams then) and I believe that noise would have easily run off a rottweiler. LOL This isn't a loud noise, but it sure is a serious one.

Newbie? LOL
In my experience with Greys, I've never heard one scream. Just talk their ever loving heads off, LOLOL. Yes they do make a 'chip' sound, but it's not a scream. I have no idea what that would sound like. :)

The last time we took our CAG in to have her wings clipped (before we started doing it ourselves) the resident Macaws and 'Toos were having a screaming contest!
Abbie picked that up straightaway, and has been doing her best impresion ever since. It's quite piercing! I don't think it's as loud as a Macaw or 'Too, but it is a good second.
She also does this when hanging upside down and swinging or fighting with one of her toys.
We hear the growl if anyone walks by her cage when it is covered at night!
I just say "Night Night Sweetheart" and she settles down to sleep again.

When she does scream, I always reassure her that "you're allright- you're OK- it's only a -------(whatever set her off)
in a soft voice.
She does it out of exuberance, too! Just the pure joy of being a bird!
