an INDESTRUCTABLE BIRD TOY !!!

I haven't had an opportunity to try it with a large parrot yet, but THESE DOG toys are called a "KONG"

Some old friends of ours invented and patented these in Denver in the early '70s, and have since sold the company {and RETIRED on the DOUGH !!!}

Our Doberman Pinscer is like "JAWS" the Shark, and even HE can't seen to get a piece outta one. They have a hole in the narrow end to put a rope through, and are available in THIS shape, along with a ball and others, and SOME can have "treats" put inside... For availability, just do a "Google search" for "Kong Dog Toy" - or try www.petsmart.com

These are great dog toys; as far as parrot toys, I haven't tried it yet as since it is so indestructible mine would get bored with it! Anyone else tried it?

Jasper has one here. I think he has gotten a few bites out of the small end of it. will see if I can get a pic of it when he wakes up later. not gonna wake him now to check and have a grumpy guy for the day. cranky humans are enought, thank you.

I've contributed to your friends' wealth and have bought a couple over the years.

I've never had a dog that would play with them.

I find they smell too rubbery for me, and the dogs would always spit them out and shake their heads, so I think they tasted too rubbery for them too.

...guess it's too late for a refund?

I have one for Ollie, but she doesn't care for it. She prefers toys that she can demolish!

LOL yeah right

I picked up a couple of big ones at petsmart a while back and gave them to Koko (M2) he chewed them into chunks in about 2 days.(they are good for macaws)

I was really hoping that someone found a toy that he couldnt trash overnight.

I've got one of these for my birds. They love it because it's not really what I would call indestructible! They like to pick little pieces off of it. Sometimes I stuff it with Avicakes and it keeps them busy. My meyer's loves to grab it and shake it around like she's killing it.

Here's a pic of the bird kong:

As you can see it's a little tattered!

Rue...When I have gotten them, I've tossed 'em in a cruddy saucepan with a coupla' cups of H2O and a boullion cube before giving them to the Dobie...Sitting in the sunshine for a month outside works too....

I'm SURPRISED that SOME BIRDS get chunks outta them...

...MAYBE it's the needle sharp beak tip, as a dog's teeth are worn off a little rounded on the tips....

I dont have a birdie kong, but I have some one of those toys that is choke full of holes for stuffing peanuts and treats in- the smaller ones are blue, bigger ones green, etc. My caique loves those and has yet to take a chunk out of the rubber- plus it did not smell like rubber when I bought it!
