Heating panel for the birdies?
Anyone have one of these?
http://www.eheat.com/ Looks like it may be a great way to keep my fids warm this winter without having to keep the heat up too high in the entire house. I called the company and they claim that there are no teflon or non-stick components. Was wondering if anyone had any experience with them. Thanks! |

I have no personal knowledge, but I'm very interested. If you get one, let us know what you think. I need to purchase another oil filled radiator, so this might be a better option.

Yes, I was thinking that the price is right and it may help save heating costs this winter. I'm dreading the gas bills!
My only concern is the possibility of any teflon like substances used. I'm going to try to get it in writing from them that they are teflon free. I'll let you know what I get for a response :). |

I dont think it would be enough heat though. They achieve energy savings because its less than 500 watts. At that price you can get 2 regular electric/oil filled radiators on sale. |

We just bought some heat panels for our sensitive outdoor birds for the winter at work. We are replacing a couple of heat lamps with them to try them out, and if we like them we will be using them again next year.
I'm not sure what company we went through, but the heat panels we bought go right inside the mews (cages) and the birds can cozy right up to them without getting burned, but the wide surface puts off a good deal of heat. Even with them, I wouldn't let the temperature in your house drop too far below 60F, but they might be a nice way to keep you from having to keep the thermostat up above 70F all day... especially with gas prices skyrocketing this winter.
