Yeah, too bad. With such perfect coloring tho- and the size of the guy (takes more on the size of a GW then a scarlet it appears) it might be a second generation... although who knows.... too bad we dont know the parents.

How about trying things the other way around? Get the macaw then worry about whether the boyfriend can fit in or not.

Seriously, though, if you're willing to do your homework, things will probably work out well. Start by picking up a book or two on macaws. Go to a local bird store and handle/ask about macaws. And I'd say to try to focus more on the negatives than on the positives. And if you still haven't been swayed....

I think that as long as you fully understand and can deal with what you'd be getting yourself into you should feel free to jump right in. Just be sure what you're jumping into.
