Ever wondered??? - Bird Kabobs

Ever wondered what happens once a bird gets done with a bird kabob??? Noel loves bird kabobs of all sorts (3 that I know of - PetStockRoom.com carries them), and she enjoys it when I hide a treat inside. I've been trying all these other toys (pine, leather, paper, plastic, acrylic - no such luck), and she hardly plays with them, and if she destroys them, they end up looking used but in general still in good shape... I've even given some of her toys away that were in perfect condition because she never touched them! I'm still trying with other toys, however my best luck is still with these bird kabobs that she enjoys destroying!

So, here's a few images of one once she is 'done' with it!

Scarlett LOVES her bird kabob! Every day when I clean out the cage I see a big pile of shredded wood. She doesn't chew hers nearly as neatly or symmetrical as Noel does though!

Angel also loves those kabobs! Whenever I go to a bird fair I pick up one for her and it's gone within 1-2 days.

Noel usually takes several weeks with hers, but she always loves working on it! Sadly though, I didn't see any at our last bird fair (actually, I haven't seen any there for all the times that I have gone). She needs a new one!

I buy mine at PetSmart. I think it was about $10 but it lasts a long time as she only gets about a week at a time with it in her cage until I rotate her toys.

Kabobs

I sell a ton of these things, all the sizes are very popular. Try pushing pine nuts into them and let the birds dig them out. Kind of a forageing toy.

I've only seen them at Parrot Connection, none at any of the other stores... and they usually go for about $15 (depends on which one I get, however). I usually put peanuts inside, though I haven't gotten any peanuts in a while, and would prefer to get pistachios (probably more healthier and less chance of fungus).
