Arrow Hello can't make up mind

Hi, I posted a few days ago on Quakers and Cockatiels and asked which is better for me. Most said Tiels but, thanks to my lack of not being able to make up my mind now I have all the types of parrots as a choice. *sigh* I am a bad decision maker. So, can you help me out. My budget is 400 dollars. Looking for type of parrot that is not very tiny and that is fairly quiet can talk and is friendly.

Thanks again,

Taylor

Hi sounds like the delema i was in beofre i bought my bird:)
listen only you can choose the right bird , alot of people will give there opinions and choices which are great , but to choose the right bird for you is diffrent try spending time wiht a certain parrot u think is something you like, for instance when i decided i wanted a parrot , i spent time with a blue headed pionus , a quaker and many more , than one day when i was at work (i worked in a petstore) a lady had orderd a baby jardine ,the baby was set to arrive the same day , and it did , i immiadiatly called the lady to inform her , that her lil bundle of joy had arrived , she quickly came over to see him , to my surprise she did not like him , according to her it had to much of an uporpotioned head lol silly lady , i explained that it was a baby thing ..conclusion she didnt want him , so i decided i was gona spoil the lil bugger ,and at last there was my bird , the one true parrot for me , the character ,the speech and much more , u see what im tring to get to is tri and get a parrot who fits your life style and you'll see everything will become clear :)

...well, if you want the best overall bet for a slightly larger parrot...

...a Pionus wins hands down! Honestly...they're perfect!!! Can't say enough good about them...friendly, not nippy (again, we're talking generalities), not loud (as far as parrots go), will entertain themselves within reason, cute as anything (BIG brown eyes!!!)...

I have a white-cap, they and the duskies are the smallest at 9.5 inches...but all the Pi's are great!

Question Hmm

Hmm...I'll have to look them up, not sure yet. What would you say about Sun Conures or Senegels?

If you're looking for fairly quiet, avoid the Sun Conure

Yes, definatly avoid the sun :) I would look into a sennie tho- they are not too loud, and boy, once they start to talk you cant shut them up! They are sweeties too, and form a very strong bond with their human. We have sennnie owners on the board, I am sure they can give you advice...
Meyers also, sweet birds, a bit smaller, and a tad quieter then the sennies.

I've heard a sennie before, and man can they have a loud, high pitched squawk which I'm sure is nothing like their scream! I'm sure that they are lovely birds, but their voice!

Sennies are great birds. I highly recommend them. They are not really loud. If they want to make some noise they can, but not the annoy the neighbors kind of noise usually.

They're all great birds...

..and we looked at Sennies and red-bellies as well...

...but I still think you should seriously consider the Pi's...any of them...

The fact that they're rarely up for rehomes should say a lot for them too...
