Favorite toy

My quaker's favorite plaything is a twisted strip of paper towel. I bought him a wood thingy that hangs with a bell and he/she just turns it's back to it. I'm sure is even afraid of it. I twist a piece of paper towel, tie it to his cage and he's pulling at if for hours. He/she makes confetti and spit balls and snaps it like gum. Talk about a cheap pet.

How about picky? LOL Noel only likes yucca toys! I've tried homemade toys, various types of pine, leather, or acrylic, but she hardly pays attention to them! I end up 'rehoming' all of her toys except for her yucca ones!

All my birds can be occupied for quite some time with a simple roll of adding machine paper. I run a piece of thin cord through the roll and tie it to the outside of the cage. I stick one end of the roll in through the cage bars and within just a few minutes they are happily unrolling the paper. I can even reroll it a few times before it gets too shredded and dirty. I bet quakers would LOVE it!

Mango's favorite toy....pretty much anything and everything!! Seriously, Mango plays with anything he finds interesting...he likes to try to throw pens around and loves to drop everything he can pick up onto the floor. He also loves to push little toys around with his head...he almost reminds me of a little puppy!! Mango's favorites are definitely any toys with bells! One day, Mango actually fell asleep while hanging off of one of his toys

Willow will play with most things...from pen caps and paper to the most expensive foot toys. I gave WIllow a roll of adding machine paper and I think he just like to unroll it and see how many times I would reroll it for him! Eventually he had almost the whole roll on the bottom of the cage! I think Willow's favorite toys are ones with wood and other things to chew up.

Here is a picture of Willow's roll of adding machine paper after about 2 days...

Sounds like my 'zon. She mostly ignores her expensive, hanging toys, but loves the free foot toys I give her. She'll shred cardboard boxes, toilet paper rolls, old phone books, and chunks of wood for hours and be happy.

Beeper, on the other hand, is flat out afraid of any new toy and won't go anywhere near it until it's been in his cage for a couple of months... then he usually destroys it in a matter of days.

Cami likes anything shiny. She also has some bell ball/cat toy things on her play stand that she likes to pick up and throw over the side for us to pick up for her. And, of course, she's a big fan of anything Sam happens to be playing with.

I would like to give my fid the roll of paper products but I was concerned about the glue? Could it be a problem?

one thing that you might want to use is the rolls of paper that they use for adding machines. They are great and make a big mess. Birds love it

Only if they eat it. I don't think there's enough glue on there to really hurt them just by shredding it. At least, I've never had any problems and I don't know of anyone who has.

Of course, if your bird is eating the things it shreds, you have a much bigger problem than just the glue ;)

LOL!! Thanks but sometimes I think the bird store really sold me a pig disguised as a bird. He/she's always eating. But, I think you are right, it's not eating, just stredding.

Cat toys

My quakers LOVE those cat toys that have jingle-balls in them. They are easy to pick up and he holds it in his hands and shakes it up and down...so much fun!
