Do Conures Whistle?

Maybe a crazy question but I have no idea. Sunny will squawk and scream, chuckle, and talk but he has yet to whistle. Are Nandays capable of whistling? Thanks!

Hmm... I dunno! You tell me!

YouTube - Bugger - Green Cheek Conure.

Conures aren't really known for whistling... I'm sure they can, but I haven't noticed them to be as great singers as tiels and budgies... although just ask Charlie, he's got a wonderful voice and mine sucks! He tells me so by biting me then out-singing me!

2horse- that is too funny-a budgie with a Sun call. Now, are there really budgerian conures or are you just being funny?

Thanks, Monica! That Green Cheek sure does whistle well and is very cute. Would love to hear Charlie sing. Maybe you two could duet?

LOL! NO! I'm terrible! Charlie hates my singing! No need to embarrass myself! Well, MAYBE we'll see!

Peanut - sun conure on the left, Peewee little green budgerian conure on the right. Peewee's parents are both budgies, but .......... by her attitude I think there is a conure trapped in the little body.

EJ my GCC whistles! I was a little bummed that my 'tiel never whistles (or has any vocalization other than various pitches of chirps) but then we got EJ home and within the first couple of weeks she started whistling in addition to all her other sounds...LOVE it!!! She doesn't whistle actual recognizable tunes (i.e. Andy Griffith theme song) but she most definately whistles her own random songs.
