If you can't use a patch you still have to plug the hole before you plaster over it. Crumple up some newspaper and stuff it into the hole. Plaster over it once. After it dries you may have to do it again once or twice. Plaster tends to recede into the hole a bit as it dries. When the hole is plastered over and dry, sand lightly (maybe even with a brittle sponge). Give it a coat of primer and when that's dry paint to match.
Sanding may create alot of dust so take necessary precautions. I've had to do this a few times. Some of my walls are plaster and I found out the hard way you can't hammer a nail for a picture into a plaster wall. Hope I helped. |
