Cotton rope threaded with drilled baby blocks are a big hit... I get old, mismatched socks (clean of course!) and stand in front of my birds, then while they are watching, stuff them full of their favorite goodies, like peanuts, dried mangos, etc, then tie the end of the sock up, and hang it up in the cage. They chew through the sock to get the goodies. My caique loooves hanging off of his and chewing away. I also frequent dollar stores for baby toys, like plastic keys, etc and thread those on a leather thong and hang it up in the cage, they love that too.

Nancy usually makes some great toys!

Here are a few threads you might be interested in checking out... they each talk about making toys or toy safety... if you've got time to look through them!

There's more on birdboard if you do a search, and there is a good bird toy making website, though can't remember the url to it!

My amazon LOVES it when I leave empty boxes (like food boxes) on her playstand for her to chew up. She also loves toilet paper tubes, old phone books, and blocks of wood small enough to hold in her foot, but large enough to get a good foot and beak on :)

I have also made her a shredding foot toy by taking newspaper sheets, folding them, and rolling them up, then securing them with a zip tie. That keeps her busy for awhile, too. Here is a picture of her chewing on that toy:

She is beautiful! I dont have any pictures of my fids yet, but when I do I will let everyone know! I like the foot toys. This would be great for my conure as he loves to pick up things with his feet. Any more ideas for foot toys would be great!

If you're creative enough, you can make foot toys out of just about anything.

You can also find a good selection of affordable foot toys at www.busybeaks.com. I like to stock up with stuff from them every once in awhile. They have great customer service, and I've met the owner of the company in person. She personally checks every toy for safety before retailing them through her company. AND... Sam's picture is on her site :)

busy beaks is a great site! I have started my own business making bird toys, however, haven't been active. I know once I get active I will be busy and I am getting old and tired............ In the meantime, my fids get some great toys..

Here's one for Aussies- www.tropicaltoybox.com.au

She sells on Ebay mostly, go to www.ebay.com.au if they don't show up on normal Ebay. I bought several toys at good prices, very nicely made!
