With ACV it has to be organic from a health food store. the type with the sediment in it. I prefer Braggs. For maintenence I use one drop per ounce for all my birds including finches.

I only had to use apple cidar vinegar once, and then my vet sent me home with some. But I have heard that you should only use the organic.
I think she had me take one ounce and mix it with a gallon of water. I had to give it to Cami as her soul source of drinking water when she was getting over a bacterial infection. I don't know much about probiotics. Why are you using them... or did you already explain that in a thread I missed? Just like antibiotics, I think probiotics are best used under the supervision of a vet who can give you the right kind and tell you the right dosage. But that's just me talking; again, I don't know much about it. |

Probiotics are routinely given after the administration of antibiotics for infections.
Once the infections are controlled you need to add back the good bacteria that usually resides in the digestive tract. That's the only reason I can think of to need to provide a probiotic. I use Benebac when I have to. As for ACV, yes, it must be "live" and organic. It will contain Mother. If you take Mother and add it to just about any fruit juice of cider, it will turn it to vinegar. Its a lot like using bread starters to make sour dough bread.
