Stop PDD Campaign
Its almost 2006 and the Stop PDD Campaign is probably the last thing on your mind. However, if you are living with a sick bird, you are no doubt frightened and broke. Just wanted everyone here to really think about how they spend their extra cash. I won't send Christmas cards this year. I figure that money is better spent on finding a cure. I'd rather email all of you with the news that this dreaded disease is gone.
Unfortunately, its not gone. Its still there, killing hundreds of wonderful companion birds every single year. I've plead Dr. Ritchie's case often. I can't make anyone dig into their pockets and send him some much needed funds. However, I will once again remind you that polio was cured with the collected dimes of little children. I have my prescription bottles filled with quarters in front of me and I'm gonna cash them this week. Its not a lot of money, but its what I have saved to do what I can. Thanks to Lisa B. who put together a basket that was raffled at the Philly gathering. She was able to collect $90 for the cause just by asking a few folks to donate some goods. We do what we can. Please, this holiday season as you consider donating to your favorite causes, include a check the the Avian Health Network. It could make the difference between life and death. Thanks again. The Outlaw

Extra cash? What is that?
Stamping out PDD is a wonderful cause... this disease scares the crap out of me since I know there are birds at the aviary that have been exposed to it. There's no way I can donate this year, but it is certainly on my list for years where we have a little more money love to share. |
