He actually is still around the neighborhood. I saw him twice today, on the other side of a privacy fence right by my building.
The last sighting was two hours ago. So, I am definitely not losing hope, and I know he's still around. |

If you see him...can you have a cage with one of the other birds that may draw him closer? I so hope you're reunited before sunset tonight...keep the wolf whistle going and know that I'm thinking of you constantly...I just can't imagine the panic and fear. Hang in there Nick.

Thanks Kiwi.
The cage with another birds idea will probably not work - he has totally disregarded the other birds in the house. He is his ownself, who stays away from other birds. I will try though - he may recognize their chirp and associate it with home. |

any chance of using an extension pole of some sort with a perch ...just wondering if he is having trouble if he's up too high...I'm just trying to think of any possibility that races before me....keep us posted...Deb

Post fliers all over the area so people will be looking out for him, and if anyone else manages to catch him they'll know who he belongs to. Offering a cash reward for information that results in his capture is good, and makes the situation especially interesting to any children in the area. Kids can be really good at this sort of thing since they often spend more time outdoors than adults do and are motivated by relatively small amounts of money.

Thanks guys. Heres some more info that I haven't yet disclosed:
I have a net on a short pole. I went out today and bought a long extender, and it can now reach the top of 99% of the trees in the neighborhood. I did post flyers at the community mailbox center, and for some reason, the maintenance worker took them down. They weren't on the actual mailboxes, but on the walls on the side. I have yet to make my way over there and deal with him. I am going door to door tomorrow with flyers. It is stated that there is a cash reward. I will tell adults that I will have a big candy party for their children if they can spot the bird for me. Birdie is an extremely picky eater - his only favorite "treat" is millet, which I carry in my pocket when I am looking for him. Again, thank you for the continued support. I am going to be out all day tomorrow searching. Also, I just got back in from another long search. I searched the whole neighborhood, calling, and talking to him - no response. For the record, he was last spotted at 3pm today, near my house. |

Nick, I so hope that Birdie is settled for the night in a tree very close to your home. Good luck with your search and I hope that the surrounding neighbors and kids will help you tomorrow and there will be success and a homecoming for Birdie. I can't believe the maintenance guy couldn't leave the flyers up for a couple days..good luck...I'm thinking about you guys and keeping you in my prayers for Birdie's safe return. Debbie
