Emergency Rescue of sorts....

A friend of mine had gotten a LSC and Sylvester attacked her hubby and then chased her daughter, so he is now here.

Sylvester is 14 years old and had one owner his whole life, until she died. Her children found her about a day and half later, with Sylvester standing on her guarding her body. This happened in December, he then was bounced from kids and firends and finally to a breeder so he had 6 homes in 8 months. He spent one night at my friends and now here. He is very plucked, but has some feathers coming back in.

He has chased David across the room already, but snuggles on me. He also has night terrors. He loves oatmeal and apples and is eating very well.

Here he is playing with a hair clamp on his shoulder.....

hey Wild, I think it's great you are willing to help him! I just took in a male Eclectus plucked a little less than yours. It's amazing though how fast they come along with a steady supportive home. I hope he stops chasing people though that sure isn't fun!! Well if nothing else he certainly sounds to be eating well which is great! Keep us updated on how he's doing!! :D

Poor bird! :( I have heard that if a bird is abused by a man, they fear other men as well-and vice versa. Maybe that is what happened to this poor guy with one of the previous owners. Bird makes noise, man gets annoyed and slaps bird-it happens. Maybe he will learn to love your husband in time, but at least he has YOU! :D

Poor birdie. He must have been so confused when his owner died. You have such a good heart to take him. I"m sure he'll be ok now that he's with you. Give him a snuggle for me.

Tammy - bless you for taking in this baby! You know I am a huge 'too lover!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My U2 still chases everyone around the floor; not sure it is something they will get over. I am thankful that Sylvester has bonded with you; they always need that one special person. I am saddened to hear that he bounced around from home to home; no wonder he has no feathers. I know that with your loving care he will grow those feathers back.
Again, bless you for taking in this poor baby!

Thanks for the support. Sylvester had 7 homes in 8 months and now here. He also has a ruptured air sac, causing an air bubble under the skin on the back of his neck. We will be "deflating" that today and starting him on anitbiotics too.

This little guy only weighs 567g, so he is a little under wieght. He is letting some feathers come in, he feels like 3 day old razor stubble...

Also, loves spray baths and a hair dryer, go figure. He ate rice and calliflower and veggies last night. I clipped his wings, he was very polite. We will see if he is as polite while poking a hole in his skin....Yeah right!!!! Especially considering he hates hubby and this will take 4 hands.

I will post pictures of before and after later on. He has a good vocabulary too, he says "hi Sylvester" "Pretty bird", and sings La cucharacka (sp) it is funny.

I'll post more later
