Dear Dr. Ritchie,

My name is Lisa B***, and has had the pleasure of living with the most wonderful of companions for nearly 30 years now. While being very fortunate not to have had to endure the pain of loosing any parrot to PDD, through the years, some of my acquaintances have. Unfortunately I had lost a beloved African Grey to Aspergillosis, and the saving grace with Asper was knowing this disease was not a death sentence to all the others in the house. I was fortunate to be able to have some of the best Avian Veterinarians take care of my boy while he was sick. One of his vets, Dr Laura Wade, is active in the Buffalo Hookbill Society, and spoke with you in Buffalo at a fundraiser for PDD.

PDD is something all parrot owners fear. We are helpless when our companions are sick, and often devastated when they pass on.

Recently, a group of individuals gathered together in Philadelphia Pa, to meet for the first time. We are all members of Birdboard.com.
Prior to the gathering, I wanted to put together a basket to raffle off to help raise funds for your research. I contacted Nancy R*******, of Maryland, who supports your research wholeheartedly. Nancy was kind enough to bring a donation with her for the basket when she arrived in Philly.

Kathie H***, A Friend of mine, works at Bird Paradise in Burlington, N.J. I contacted her and told her of the basket, and that all proceeds were to benefit your research. Kathie talked with the owners of the store, Jack and Kathy L*****, who graciously donated over $100.00 in toys for the basket.

It was also mentioned that we would like to have a fundraiser here in NJ for PDD. I would appreciate it if you could have someone contact me with the details of what you require to hold a lecture. I have several other Board Certified Avian Veterinarians that we can see if we can get them together on behalf of PDD, and your research.

In closing, I would like to say, thanks to some remarkable people, and on behalf of Birdboard.com and Bird Paradise in NJ, I am pleased to enclose a check to help stop PDD, and to help you continue with your research that will eventually eradicate this horrible disease and death sentence for so many.
