Bird jobs/internships available
Here is something of interest for those of you that might want to take this opportunity.
http://www.emeraldforestbirds.com/Jobs.htm Jerry is a nice guy and would be fun to work with as he is a wellspring of information. I would have loved to do the internship but health issues (old fart) will keep me from it, but I am sure that younger more able folks would learn invaluable lessons from him.

Aww.... but I'm not 21 yet!!! I want to go! I'm mature, I'm ummm.... forgetaboutit! Got my own zoo here, can't leave them behind anyway! Weren't they selling their property though??? Errr.... well maybe I confused them with someone else?

Man! Maybe they'll still be hiring in 2 1/2 years when I'll have my B.S. degree in Bio... That would be so much fun!

That is pretty darn cool.
My aviary offers bird show internships to college students in the summer. My internship there got me my job. It paid a stipend of $300/month and out of state interns get on grounds housing. I'm told we're one of the few bird show internships in the country that allows interns close interaction with birds, including handling and performing in shows. Just a thought for any of you up-and-comings interested in training.
