Christmas trees and fids?
I know, I know, I'm sure these is a total dumbarse question. I searched high and low on LOV as I thought I remembered seeing something there but no joy.
Are Christmas trees toxic to fids? I think Scarlett perched in the tree would make an awesome Christmas card picture but I can only imagine that it is a disastrous idea.

Christmas trees are not toxic, but beware. I, too, thought my Ekkie would make a great Christmas card so I perched her in a tree. All went well until I removed her a bit later. She managed to somehow nip off a tip and got sap all over her! You ever try to get sap off of an Ekkie?

You ever try to get sap off of an Ekkie?
 LOL....That could be difficult !I am glad this was posted as I was wondering the same thing. A real tree is so much prettier and I was considering one this year as well. I would still be concerned about ornaments and lights though. I know my 'lil one likes to chew on everything!

I read somewhere that pine is toxic if ingested... actually, in more than one place.
I have a fake tree, and the only bird it will hold is my cockatiel, and she's not big into chewing. I got this picture of her last year:

That is such a cute picture Alika! I never realized how much Cami looks like my Dakota! I don't have any pictures of him here with me, but I will post some when I go home for Christmas. Maybe I can get one of him in our tree!

I wasn't unwelcome because I won... that came out wrong. It was... other things... some of the moderators had issues with some of the advice I was giving in the bird section, and most of the members made it obvious after that that I wasn't welcome anymore. Thank goodness for BB. Sorry... OT

I can't believe they had problems with your advice! I have found all of your advice to be very helpful! Ollie and I are making great strides in accomplishing your "amazon hold" thanks to your very detailed instructions and tips! Thanks again for that!
