One of these beauties soon to be mine!

I have been doing some hunting around for a Princess Parrot and found this breeder down in Sydney who has hand-reared blue Princesses. They are 9 weeks old now and fully weaned. In the photo, they appear to be about 3 weeks. He is coming up my way next week and will be bringing me one of these little angels. He says they are all friendly, cuddly and healthy. I can't wait!

And these are the parents:

I have also located a breeder in Brisbane who has newly hatched normal green Princesses. I still haven't decided if I want to take one at 3 weeks and handfeed myself (having been taught by Joel and Samm) or wait until next month when the breeder weans them. I would have the whole week between Christmas and New Year's off and if the same temp job continues, they would be 5 weeks old and on 2 feedings (morning and evening) by the time I go back to work. The breeder lives just a couple miles away and I could go to him for help if I needed it.

I love the princess parrots, the blues are so darn pretty! I got to play with a handraised 28 parrot a few weeks back, they are lovely little creatures too, so quiet and sweet. Are you thinking about getting 2 princess parrots then Tiki?
You lucky thing. Are you home from the states now?

Gorgeous blues! I wouldn't really know but I'd probably go with a weaned princess because of the time of year and such, but then again Australia is different than the US in customs, temps, etc, so actually I wouldn't know! Since you are not too sure about your job, I think it might be easier to stick to a fully handraised one, though I can understand your desire to raise a baby!

So, whatever you decide, I'd love to know if you go with handraised, or the ones that still need feeding!

Yes, I will be getting 2 Princesses, one blue and one green. I get the blue one a week from today!

Katie, any chance you are coming down to Brisbane? These green ones that will be ready to go next month are only $60 or 2 for $100. The breeder lives in the next suburb from me.

Nancy, I am lucky the breeder is only bringing mine up from Sydney, otherwise I would be tempted. The green ones-they are local so someone please hold me back!
