Bird sex

Is it possible to tell the sex of a bird by the bird's choice of favorite person? We have two conures and two cocketeils. Based on the birds favorite person the two conures would be female, I am their favorite person and I am male. One cocketeil would be male, barely tolerates me, loves Margo; and the other cocketeil loves anyone who will scratch her/his head. Has anyone noticed this selecting the opposite sex favorite person and then had the bird's sex confirmed by DNA?

It doesn't make a difference. Male birds can bond to male people, and female birds can bond to female people... or vice versa.

My cockatiel Casey prefers females over males but if they'll give her a scritch she's happy with anyone! Noel, sex unknown, believe to be female, prefers females and is a blood factor problem when near males or older people...

I've got 4 other cockatiels that may prefer males over females though...

It just depends on the birds, and how they were raised.

In our household, I am Mr Rio"s favorite, although he is comfortable with Lori; and Ms Mija will sit with me but will actually lay down when she's with Lori.

I'm not even sure that birds even know what our gender is. I think they are attracted to things in their past that were pleasurable and probably associate negative things as well. In fact, with long haired men and short haired women, high pitched voices and low pitched voices, I'm surprised they don't have to DNA us!

It's true.

Our U2 at work, for example, does not like blonde people... male or female.

Our black vulture does not like men, because he was badly mistreated by them in his past. But it doesn't keep him from holding a grudge against me because of my short hair.

They do have their likes and dislikes, and personal preferences will differ, but a male bird is not necessarily be more attracted to a female human.
