In several posts dealing with fabric (rope, non-sisal) perches, the issue of how to dry washed perches has arisen. Some, like Nancy allow theirs to dry outside in the sun. Great when you have summer weather, but what to do in winter, or if you live someplace wherein putting perches outside is not advisable? Herewith I post a picture of my solution:
As can be seen, the in floor heater is used to provide a dry heat to the arched perches (held in place by the threaded metal ends). What cannot be seen in the photograph is the fan that is used to keep steady air movement. With the fan set on low, & using only the normal on/off cycle of the heater, the perches are dry within eight hours, the plastic ends never reach over 130 fahrenheit (no worries about toxic fumes), & the increase in utility consumption is negligible. This allows for a prolonged useful life of this sort of perch (along with trimming any dangling threads) of up to 2 years.
