Here's a terrific idea

This was posted on my board by a member today who has called in Liz Wilson to help with her difficult macaw:

Liz shared this idea with us last night... it keeps her macaw busy for hours. She has a steel baking pan with sides and fills it with river rocks. She then adds a teaspoon of Sam's favorite seeds in the rocks, mixes it all up, and gives the pan to Sam. She spends hours trying to find her favorite seeds and is thus entertained. I'm definitely going to try this with Nimo.... maybe I'll use seashells instead of rocks. I can hide some sunflower seeds inside the shells... hee hee hee... it'll drive Nimo nuts! P.

I think this is a wonderful idea.

That is an excellent idea, Nancy! I'd have to come up with something smaller than river rocks for my tiels though but big enough that they can't eat them.
