My parrotlet loves to snuggle. I also have parakeets and they don't sit still for long..they fly together back and forth to their tree. I've had the parrotlet for 8 months and she loves to snuggle, a real sweetheart. I can't personally speak on other breeds. I have been around Senegals and they are sweethearts.

My two tiels snuggle up against my neck and love to go out on walks, they can't stop starring at the sky... so pretty. I love clouds.

A lovebird that has been hand-raised and socialized can be a real cuddle bug... But I'd also have to say that 'tiels are pretty snuggly, too :) If anything, they have a reputations of being pretty hands-on so that's something to consider.

My blue crowned conure, Kess, would like nothing more than sitting on my shoulder 24/7. My sun conure, Khan, would do the same but wants to see other folks as well.

I like a pionus for a cuddly and amusing smaller parrot. They are generally quiet and easy keepers.

well there is no guarantee that any bird of any species will be snuggly forever, or calm and quiet forever.
That said, get a Pionus or Senegal. I've been around Senegals of all ages and found them delightful. I never heard a bad word about them until I read this board, a few people seem to think they are very loud? Wow that is not my experience. For clam quiet birds I still say Sennie or Pionus. I've known Quakers of all ages and they can certainly be cuddly, though I wouldn't call them quiet. Though keep in mind that just like the snuggle factor, there is no guarantee that ANY type of bird will be quiet and relatively "lazy" for its whole life. Good luck. |
