I change Aree's paper daily... she's a little mess maker that one...
Her cage is scrubbed down thouroghly weekly... and in the summer i'll take it outside and hose it down monthly.

Every other day, to every day. Dishes get scrubbed daily, and I take a hot cloth in these winter months and scrub down the bad spots of the bigger cages. Grates get cleaned about once a week or two times a week, same with perches. I rotate toys once a week, and for the finch cage I rotate branches once a month. If the weather is nice I take the cages outside and hose them off.

I wash dishes daily, water often twice a day. I wipe the grate and any other visible dirty spots every morning with a wet paper towel. I change cage papers once or twice a week. She rarely poops in her cage. She is out at least 4 hours a day, and she holds it as long as possible when she is in there. She also doesn't poop at night. The papers she poops on when she is out of her cage get changed about every other day.
The cage gets a major cleaning every weekend, along with perches, foot toys, etc. I say major cleaning, but during the winter it is more minor. Summer time brings out the power washer.

Anyone use a steamer, what's your thoughts about them? I think I'm just old fashioned. I want the scrub brush, soap and bleach. Is it safe to use a bleach solution and if it is what would the ratio of bleach to water be?

I use a steamer, for my deep cleaning- let me tell you it works. I got a secondhand california cage, that hadnt been cleaned up after the previous resident had vacated it, so it had some major cleanup needed on it. It worked maricles- along with some bleach solution and a toothbrush for the small spaces- the cage looks brand new, and I havent had problems with it at all.

I do a major clean and steam cleaning of the cages twice a month; my cages are huge and have to be dismantled to take out, so I clean them in the room! Papers are changed daily, and I try to mop in the bird room every day. Four of my birds run free in the bird room and it can get quite messy, and quickly!

Same here Laurie, I have galavanters!!!! I vac and mop mats twice daily, clean and change water twice and wipe down cages with vinegar each morning and then 3 times (Mon, Wed, Fri) a week scrub them down. When I still had a steamer it came out 2 times a month. Papers changed each morning.
