Exclamation spider traps: WARNING

Jetanlori's post about mice made me think of this...

This may seem quite obvious to most people, but I never thought of it.

When I lived in Illinois (go, Cubs), there was never any problem with spiders. I moved to Washington (still, go, Cubs) and there are "hobo" spiders everywhere.

We put down those sticky spider traps that are recommended.

I had a parakeet who was not very tame, and she decided to scurry away and hide from me.

It only took a few seconds on her part and not thinking on my part...she crawled into the spider trap and got stuck. She was glued to the cardboard, and getting her off was not pleasant.

She ended up being okay, but it was a horrible experience. It still gives me the shivers.

I just thought I would share this in case any one is thinking of using any kind of critter catcher.

Gluey half-bald birds are not fun.
