It seems to me they have spawned and your warning came too late.
I found the peaceful state of NJ under attack as well.They seem to be everywhere, and able to "change" coloration at will.
It was first spotted crossing the Delaware Memorial Bridge. After making it's way into our home, It then climbed every mountain, and finally after being sedated,it finally calmed down...we decided to hug him, squeeze him, and call him Ollie Foghorn!
