Should I clip?

Well, I am letting Tiki's wings grow and she has been taking mini flights. If we are within a few feet of her cage she will someties fly over to it. She has also gotten a little more confident about flying off of her tree onto the ground and hobbling over to me. It's cute! She doesn't seem like the type to take flights around the room. We'll see. I think it would be cute if she did. :P

You may try working with them more to show them that all people are not bad that will keep them around even if they get out of the cage.

I think that you are right. That way I can work with them and they can learn to trust me. Ok now the next question, how do I do this. I live in a 3 world country (its really a island in the middle of the ocean) and down here they don't have the benifit of good venternary care as in the USA ( I miss that) so if anyone has any time of diagram or visual aid I would be eternally grateful.

just clip the last 4 or 5 feathers on the end of the wing even with the coverts they are the short feathers on the bottom of the wings don't cut any blood feathers.

Here is a link showing 1 way to clip i always clip from the top after i look at the feathers and make sure they are ok to cut.

thanks for the visual aid Beaks. It helps alot to actually have a diagram to follow. Now when I do clip their wings I won't be afraid of them flying off and getting hurt.
