She's really beautiful and I'm sure if she's already made that much progress with you that she will be fine. She just needed someone who was serious about making friends with her, it sounds like to me.
The local bird store owner says "do they bite?" is a very common question. She (unlike many store owners) answers truthfully -- "They're *birds* so of course they bite!" (It's like asking if a cat will ever scratch you. If you own her long enough, why yes, she most likely will. So what.)I think too many people think a nip or two is the end of the world and give up (and probably shouldnt have bought a bird in the first place). An initial bite or two (or even a chomp or two) doesnt mean much. Berta left a huge & probably permanent scar on my arm (and more than a few small ones on other body parts) during the first month I had her. (She's a macaw so she came well equipt to inflict some harm.) Now she kisses me all the time. I view the scar as sort of like getting a lover's name tatooed on your arm - something I would never do for a person! But I dont mind being "marked" by my "giant love bird" at all.
