Good weight for a lilac crown amazon?
Like some of the rest of you, I discovered after I got Pico home from the bird store that I had accidentally purchased a miniature pig, wearing a feather suit.
But now he seems to be backing off a bit (maybe the novelty of what we serve here is wearing off, now). I weighed him and he is 395 grams. He is 22+ yrs old - we dont really know how old - he could be a lot older than that. I dont have anything to consult re what his weight range should be. (Is there something like "the great macaws" book for other types of birds?) Anyway, how does that weight sound to other folks? (you can see a pic of him in the photo gallery - he's playing with a small ball on top of his cage)

They should weight between 325 and 350 grams. Looks like your bird may be hefty (LOL).
