New Fid

I'm picking up my new fid Friday. Blue and Gold, 5mths and still on 2 feedings. I fed my RF out so this should not be a problem. His name is Charlie, though I do not know if its a boy/girl. I'll have him dna'd at a later date. I am so excited and a bit nervous. Gypsy is the largest fid I have right now and whew, Charlie is so much bigger. I am getting a 40x30x73 cage for him and I have a Manizanita tree ready. I have read alot on the B&G, but would love some personal thoughts on the species.

I meant that I finished weaning her, she was still taking 2 feedings a day until she did not want any more.

My feelings on a B&G???? Absolutely love 'em!!! Rio is 22 months and we have had him since he was 4 mos. He is pure personality. He goes through playing with you, heavy duty wrestling, then snuggling.. He loves Pasta and Beans, especially if there's red pepper or chili powder involved. He can be sitting peacefully on my shoulder while we watch tv, then suddenly roll down onto my chest or lap for a wrestling session. He lays on his back and picks at my fingers with his beak and/or feet. You can watch him thinking things thru or strategizing on how to get to the computer desk before you can catch him. The only thing that could make him more perfect would be the ability to hold a real conversation with him.

Congrats on getting Charlie! The Outlaw is our Blue & Gold person, she has 4! I'm sure she will have tons to tell you about them. They are a hoot!

Congratulations on the new addition! I love the b/g's. Here are my two, Gabriel is almost 3 and Phoebe is 2 1/2.

Phoebe is on the left in the first 2 pictures. Gabriel is on the left in the last photo.

Your fids are beautiful. Right now Charlie is a little lover, loves to give kisses and honks when he wants attention.
