Turns out Pistachio has a cataract on her eye. The avian says it is likely genetic since she is so young (9 months) and has not at all been affected by it as it has likely been there since hatch. She is impaired in that eye. Good news as I was worried about surgery. The trip only cost me $34.50 and well worth it. So now I am basically trying to home a disabled bird. I am afraid people will view it as an unhealthy bird breeded. She is of perfect weight. We thought she may be a bit fat, but no. She is just so sweet. When I went to my relatives to get her I noticed scented candles and a gross cage

. The cage is now rusty and I am not even sure if that much poop will come off

. So now I decided to put the new cage together I have stored away along with some perches and toys and try to home her that way. Unfortunatley I am unable to bring her to my house. I need to find a good list of household dangers to print for the people she lives with. Any links would be appreciated. I have a listing in classifieds here right now. I will be away this weekend and have parents coming in from NY and after all that is over with and no replies to my ad. I will then place one in the paper and at the Avians office. Wish me luck !
